The Engineering Challenge
3rd and 4th Graders and up will devour this Engineering and Math program about teamwork, critical thinking and execution of an idea into a physical construction.
Students work cooperatively in teams to design, engineer and build a tower - with unique building materials that we supply - the tower extends both upward and outward into empty space.
After building the tower, teams come back together to "do the math" — figuring out whose tower scored the highest marks. Pow!Science! supplies all materials and reproducible extensions/connection idea sheets and activities for classroom teachers!
Classes should be divided into teams of 3 or 4 students each prior to Program day. Each team will need their own cleared desk or table to work on. Each student will need a writing utensil.
